This Book Reading is for Mirette On A High Wire which was an assigned reading book for my daughters first grade science class. The focus was on balance and motion and this book was a credit. I did the video for her to watch and read along for the purpose of education. Also I allowed access for the rest of the science class in the event they could not get a copy of the book for themselves (there were only 3 circulating in the Pittsburgh Public Library System-Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh). So if you are watching this for science, think about the process of learning to do something new:
1. Did Mirette know how to walk the high wire at the beginning of the book?
2. Why did Mirette fall?
3. How did Mirette learn to walk the high wire?
4. What did Bellini learn from Mirette?
5. Is there something you learned to do on your own or with help? How did you learn to do it?
Happy Reading!
